what was the reason for having tractor mounted blowers back in the 70's and 80's made as single stage. was is simplicity, fewer moving parts and less to break? i think because of that they are a little tougher. the only thing i ever had fail on my 37a was the chain and it was a cheap repair. no gear box to wear out means fewer repairs. i just wonder why did they make nearly all of the tractor mounted blowers as single stage back the in day. they had walkbehind 2 stages back then but tractor single stages. why?

id love to try out an International snow thrower. the only snow thrower ive used was a Bolens snow thrower on a G10. sucked.....and i mean SUCKED. i know people who swear by their deere blowers and i know cub blowers are good. and in my area, the Deere blowers are more common. as are the tractors for them.
