Oops, sorry about not responding to the seat cover question sooner, things have been very busy at home. Yes, I like the seat cover very much, I especially like having the pockets on the back for holding gloves, tools, hitch pins, etc.

Regarding the duals, they are a mixed blessing. I love the look and appreciate the extra traction on grass/dirt/light snow (they are filled w/ rim guard) but the added width caused issues in the really deep snow. The rear track is about 8+ inches wider than the snow blower so the outside tires would ride up on the unblown snow and lose traction. For the really deep stuff I was forced to do this weird "dance" down the road: drive forward about 8 feet, back up, angle to the side a bit and drive 8 feet again, back up, drive forward, angle to the other side for another 8 feet, back up, drive forward, angle to the other side, repeat for 500+ feet. My hand on the fwd/rev lever actually started to cramp up after that run.

I finally changed the oil and filter in the 1863 this morning. I picked up a filter and 2 qt's of Mobil Super back in the fall but never really quit using the tractor. I used a Motorcraft FL400s filter, it's longer but I think there is plenty of clearance.

Sorry, meant for this to be in "what you did today"

I get my seat covers from my local Cub dealer. He has both the Cub branded cover and the same thing without the Cub logo for less $$.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
