I spent some quality time working on the non-functioning front lift. As it turns out, it was just the sheer pins. They were a real pain in the butt to get out, but they are out now. Cost $3 for two sets at Lowes. Can't wait to get them back in and functioning again.

I think I need some auxillary lights, either wider, higher or both. The stock lites on the 1862 are bright enough, but they shine right in the shoot. I'll be doing some cypherin' this week to see what I can come up with.
I have been having to use my dads Deere to keep his drive cleared out this week. They are out of town. I don't know if you have seen the set up the x series Deere's have or not. His is on a x585. They have a roll bar for lack of better words, mounted right on the blower. It has 2 wide beam lights on it and they are about 4 1/2 -5 foot tall. It works well with them there.

Sounds like I'm not the only one getting the snow stuff ready. Hope to have the plow and blower in the garage this weekend. I've gotten some more work done on the cab but that is in another thread. I'll also post a thread about adding the lift arm strap along with filling the tires. I've been bringing firewood from the pile to the garage lately so here are a couple of working pics.

I took the 1872 out for a "traction test" of the new filled Tru-Power Ags and V61 rib tires. We got some slight Ice and snow and it was really slick. About an inch deep. I could not make the tires spinn or slide no matter how hard I tried. Even on the Hill that I had spunn tires all the way up in my car. With the old turfs with only wheel weights I probably could have been out doing donuts! I was pretty impressed with the way the fluid in the tires made them hook up. I'm glad I filled the fronts as well as the rears. The old turfs used to push around badly with the plow on. The V61s I couldn't make slide either. Of course things will be different with the plow on and deeper snow. I'm still pretty sure this will be a big improvement. Traction is good!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
