The wife's bottom was not a big fan of the tiny seat on the shadow so something had to be done about it. Found a gentleman that had been trying to sell his 88' GL1500 for over a year. After selling my shadow it was basically an even trade. I really like the 80's look of it with the custom seat but plan on some safety updates like LED lights and new windshield. It rides much better with a passenger than I ever though possible. The guy was only 40 miles away but I put 140 miles on it the day I bought it and couldn't be happier.

Very Nice bike I ate beans & hotdogs for 6 months & bought my brand new 1982 V45 Honda Magna, super fast bike had a escort radar detector, rifle sport fairing & nice sound system installed, use to fly on it down to the Florida keys every weekend to go fishing, amazing bike only drawback is they had manual valve lash adjusters instead of automatic & had to have Haps Honda in Sarasota adjust the valves alot, bought mine new in 1983.
Mine was also Midnight Blue Metallic. |

My Other Love
I picked this up on a trade a year and a half ago. Ive got a ton of new parts for it. Mostly in the line of cosmetics. Its absolutely not stock as she will fly. I've ran a couple 1000's and a 1200 hawg and smoked them. I typically get beat off the mark but make up for it by third gear. That's only for naturally aspirated bikes. Those guys running nos and turbo are no fun. My ride is all motor and they need add ons. When you can do 167 on pump gas in 4th with 5th left to go you're moving boys..

Are you on drugs? 167 MPH in South Carolina? In the mountains? That's stupid fast even on flat ground.

Traded bikes
Well.... I traded bikes today.
Bought that 84 Shadow 700 last summer. My wife ended up being a real biker chic, lol. She loves to ride. We put 5000 miles on the Shadow and decided it was time to get a bigger bike. Found a local guy who was selling a 83 Goldwing 1100. He had just done quite a bit of work to it, including painting it. He ended up really liking my Shadow, so we traded straight up. Got some more work that needs done to it, but I'm pretty happy!! 20170913_180015.jpg |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
