Default what i did today

I just got an AGS2140 home yesterday. It was in the pasture behind my dads house for a few years since he bought a zero turn. I just bought a new house and needed a mower so I thought Id see if I could get her running agian. Took the front body panels off, dug several huge mouse nest out of the engine compartment, changed the oil, installed new battery, inspected wiring and conections, and got her to run smooth as silk. I also took the deck off and gave it a good cleaning.

Tomorrow plan to check the trany, get a tire fixed that wouldnt hold air, and see if everything else works as well as the engine does. Then Ill think about repainting becuase it looks pretty rough. Pretty productive day in my opinion.

We did get some more of the ice to 'pop', but I got tired of eating the steering wheel when the blade was locked in, so I set it so it would trip again. Then that's all it wanted to do

Got some of the 2" thick ice scraped down, and can see stones through the ice now.

We then tried our luck with the snow. Almost got whipped, but we kept pounding away at the hard crust (ice) and soft wet snow underneath the crust, until it saw things our way

It is supposed to keep warming up here. Last week was miserable. Temp was -10* at night, and 7* during the day...but with the wind chill, it felt like -17*. We had 3 straight days of that nonsense, then we hit 31* and sunny today!
I see you are ready for spring! It was warm enough here for me to get out the brinly and plow our garden,I NEEDED some plow time, sure hope it warms up there for you soon, maybe i can post some pictures of my cub plowing our ice/snow free ground

Thanks Bill! I'll be plowing with the 122, and I'm really looking forward to it! Come on down to NC, it's going to be in the 60's and 70's this week.

About time! I've been waiting for two weeks for my 100 fix!

Thanks Bill! I'm loving every second of it. Mom thinks he's too young to be driving a cub but he does really good. I had to name every thing in the yard I didn't want him to hit. He's so awesome! I'm going to teach him how to plow so I can take him the redneck plow day! Mom's not to happy about that either.

Your going to be plowing with this? I did call Allen today and started up the 122 and put the phone up to the stack for fun today. I don't think he thought it was as funny as I did.

I got the carb rebuilt on the 125 yesterday and set it to the default settings and it runs like a top! I didn't have to make any changes to it. It felt nice! I also got a replacement sediment bowl on it. That was a pain in the . I showed Evan how to fire it up from the seat. I had been using vise-grips to keep the choke open. It was a hack job but was tempoary until I got the gas flowing from the tank. The sediment bowl was the problem.

I got some seat time on the 1200, Evan made sure I didn't get to drive any more then he did,so he fired up the 125 and we made laps. When I started working on getting Allen's 122 running again Evan was still making laps in the yard.

With Allen's 122 I put the carb, coil, gas tank, plug wire ect back on and put a new autolite 216 in for him. I installed the new key switch and choke cable Allen picked up. I got a new battery for the 1200 and used it to start up the 122 and fell in love with the 425 cold cranking amps it got!

Hearing the 122 running was great but kinda sad I know it's a matter of time before Allen gets it and it becomes his. The thing that makes it easier is I know it's going to a good home and it will be well taken care of, and I did tell Allen if he ever got tired of it I would buy it back.

I'm going to call the machine shop tomorrow and price out to have the 301AQS rebuilt. It's burning oil and I'm not going to keep pouring oil in it. It needs to be rebuilt and so I'm going to make it happen. I'm not looking forward to the bill but it's going to be worth it when I take to to the redneck plow day and feel the power of it being rebuilt.

It was a great day with some good seat time and wrenching time.

No seat time here but I did get the rest of my 42" deck disassembled and found a number of bits that need to be re-worked or replaced. Center spindle and the cast iron center section are going to be replaced (outboard spindles seem ok so far) as well as the idler/tension pulley spring and the pivot bolt for the idler arm. Deck over all is in pretty good shape, one tear needs to be welded, a bunch of torch heat and hammering will take care of the wows and warts and I need to forge up a new end-plate for the non-discharge side.

All in all I'm pleased with the shape everything is in and given that this is my first shot at getting into any part of the 104 in earnest, it's great to see how truly stout it all is!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
