I picked up a wide block 341 out of a Ford(Jacobsen) last Fall. It got a bore job and a new .020 piston. The oil pan hit the front crossmember so I cut the crossmember out and lowered it about 3/8 of an inch. So far I have done the trunnion repair, gone through the steering column and rebuilt the badly damaged dash. This afternoon I dropped the engine in and it clears the crossmember nicely. I am giving the paint a freshening as I go with spray cans. The white is Van Sickle and the yellow is now Majic. It is a richer yellow than the Valspar I started out with. Got to hurry and get this finished as there are two 482's coming next month.

I must be getting senile in my old age. They are 782's not 482's! Both have blown engines. One is a Series II and not sure about the other. Attached is a pic of the crossmember on the 1450 after lowering it.

Here's a pic of my 122. It's all original shape, got the original blade and mower deck and wheel weights. Just overhauled the engine in it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
