yesterday I pulled the engine out of the 2084 again.
it was hard to start and blowing oil into the air cleaner.
found both head gaskets were blown internally and one also blowing externally.
found everything else looking pretty good

so today I'm sitting around waiting for my new gaskets to arrive.

Worked on the mutt 122 and pulled the wiring harness out of it. There was some "custom" wiring which had contributed to a total meltdown of the main wiring harness. I have a used one and I've got it mostly hooked up so that I can crank the engine and see if it's any good before I sell it or swap a deck from one of my 123's to it.

Checked the V. regulator and all looks as new inside.

I'm hoping the previous owner melted down the harness early, and didn't wear the engine much as a result.

I'm probably a couple hours of weekend sunny day till trying that. Still need to terminate some wires and clean out the molasses that's in the gas tank, carb and sediment bowl.

Worked on the Mutt some more. I got the harness in and wired. Engine cranks fine (yay) but no spark (boo). It sounds fine turning over
It's our anniversary tonight so instead of Cub wrenching I'll be out at a fancy restaurant. :-)

Maybe some pix tomorrow.

Getting the exhaust dialed in. Muffler lives under the rt foot rest,
will route the tail pipe over the axle and out the rt rear side by the weight box

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
