Default New to me GW1500

After trading and working deals, my wife and I finally got the bike we wanted. It's a bit older than I wanted to go, but it belonged to a friend of mine who passed away about a year or so ago. Looking forward to some fun trips on it!

We also bought a very, very old, Cycle Kamp trailer to pull. It's in excellent shape for the age. It's a 1978, and I didn't even know they made them that long ago. Needs a bit of work, but for $500 I can live with it. For any who don't know, new motorcycle camper trailers cost about the same as a new single axle pop-up that sleeps 8, $5,000 or more. You can get some for less.... but decent used ones go for around $2,500.

Sorry about the sideways pic. I'll fix it later.

Congrats on the new to you rig.
Looks like you'll have something to travel with, for that LONG haul north. Or a place to sleep if the wife gives you the boot...
You do know what HONDA stands for, don't you?

Thanks guys!
We're super excited to get to use it! But still getting used to the 1500. I can't believe how much more power it has than the 1100, and how much more top heavy it is! Way different ride. I'm only about 5'8" and it's all I can do to touch the ground when I stop. Makes holding up that big bike with her on the back kind of tricky. She's tiny too, but sits up at least 6" higher than me. She can see over my head, which she really likes. She said staring at the back of my helmet all day really sucked. Needs a new front tire and a new windscreen, and we don't have the intercom headset for it yet. (PO had sold them with the helmets.) But we do have a bluetooth com so we can talk. Just can't listen to the radio, or talk on the CB. We'll get them though.

The trailer needs new tires, wheel bearings, and some minor work on the tent. I'd really like to paint it to match the bike. Believe it or not, it is kind of a dark purple! Oh, and the hub caps are off. Didn't like the baby moons, lol. Maybe I'll find some chrome rims for it.

Hey Todd.... "You meet the nicest people on a Honda!" LOL!

Must be nice Lance!! I haven't rode in at least a week. Just keeps raining!
Seriously the worst rainy summer I can remember. Corn is growing like crazy, but my garden looks like sh!t!!! Weeds are taking it over, and I can't even walk in it without boots on, and haven't been able to in weeks.

Glad you got in a good ride! I still want to take a good long trip this summer, but something came up that drained my funds, and took my time. Probably won't take the trip we had planned, but hoping to get a good few day trip in.

Default Washed the bike

Going on a group ride today and I wanted the bike to look nice. Gave it it's first bath, by me. Cleans up nice! We live on gravel, and the shed I keep it in gets the dirt stirred up a lot. She was a dusty dirty pig. Very hot and humid here. Going to be a hot ride today.

LOL. Well, sometimes you just need a break. Seriously, I don't have parts to put it together yet anyway.

Ride was hot! We wear full gear when riding, but take the jackets off when we stop. My wife still got burnt. We both wore tank tops..... I did not get burnt, lol. I don't think we raised a lot of money. The guy who organized it didn't do a very good job, but our friend was thankful none the less. Really got to him the people who showed up and rode to help them out. He just wants to ride his bike again before he's gone. We were raising money to help convert his bike to a trike, or find him one.

I don't know if their page is private. Maybe some of you guys can see the pics and the videos.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
