It was such a nice day here today that I figured that it would be a good time for me to clear out the garden and plow it up. I got out the old 124 and finally had a chance to play with the Brinly plow that I bought a couple weeks ago.

CBH,
Nice set up. It looks like your new plow is doing it's job. It also looks like some monster wheel weights you have there. |

I finally decided to pull the fender assy from the 782 and do some work on the hydro trunnion. It already had new springs and the trunnion itself was in new condition but it was still lazy on hills and plowing. I installed shims on the trunnion plate and cam plate. They were both sloppy. I also installed a 1/4 washer on each guide pin for the springs. What a huge difference. I don't have to touch the hydro control on the hills. Not even a pretty steep one I have. It's nice and tight. I love inexpensive upgrades that have awesome results

aagitch, If I ever have to make that repair that's the way I'm going to go.
ACecil, I'm curious. How wide is the rear of your Cub from the outside of one tire to the outside of the other side? I like the look and I'm wondering if a set-up like that will run a front blade to push snow or if the track is too wide. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
