wolverinefan,
My guess is your a fan of the Madison Wisc Wolverines??? Welcome and nice work on adapting a good snow blower to a good tractor! Good solid fab work. The belt tensioner looks like it was a factor solution too. I think you just kicked me to go out and build something. I need to make a insulated door for my syrup evaporator, and get ready for syrup season. Regards, Chris

Good idea with the tensioner, but it looks like you have it on the wrong side of the belt...tensioners go on the slack side of the belt.

I know it's on the wrong side, but there was no way to put it on the other side, because of the clutch linkage. Surprisingly it works just fine.

Wow so that one small spring pulling the belt tight can keep it from slipping? That's really cool. I would have thought that the amount of power needed to turn that blower would have this slip. Very nice :-)

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
