Here is an under hood pic. I cut out to recess the light bar and was able to put a bolt through each side of the grill housing into the light. No other brackets needed.

Nice install. This is definitely going on my to-do list.

My only concern would be how the close proximity to a hot muffler might affect the electronics inside the light bar.

I mowed with it a few times since the install without a problem. The heat shield doesn't get hot enough to damage the light. The oem wiring has been next to the shield for 25 years without being damaged.

The headlight wiring is quite stiff on both of my cyclops due to the heat exposure. At least the insulation is not cracked or falling off, yet

One could run the wire(s) through a Kevlar Sleeve.

I have been researching LED light bars and the reason for my concern is in the construction of the light bar and the need to keep the LEDs cool and not cause premature failure. In the attached picture you can see the LEDs are mounted to a large heat sink to keep them cool and hence the ventilation ribs in the enclosure. I like the "cool" factor of where and how you chose to mount your light bar but I am concerned if it will have enough ventilation and the ability to dissipate the heat in that location.

Default LED light bar

If you are thinking of purchasing a LED light bar you need to consider the IP rating of the light. Of course as you go down the chart in IP rating the price goes up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
