Sorry guys I haven't checked in on this in awhile. Didn't realize people were still posting on it.

I decided for now just to shove it off in the trailer for the winter. I wish I had more room to store it as there would be no question. My shop is too small as it is (aren't they all) for what I do and it's constantly in the way. I'll revisit the idea in the spring.

Are you talking about your cub cadet or your wife?

Cub Cadet 123

BTW> There are a lot of swap meets, etc. in the spring where you can sell it for a good price!

Don't ask less than $2,000.00! At any stor that same 2 k will only buy junk. I wouldn't sell my 169 ( which is very clean,,but not as clean as yours) for a nickel less than 1,500.00. Very nice work sir!

This thread is 2 years old. Pretty sure he made up his mind.

See the one in post #11? He paid $500 not restored. Yours isn't worth $1500, we already told you that.

Here is my $300 CL find from the 2nd owner. I couldn't pull 3 Benjamin's out of my pocket fast enough and you should have seen the look on the old timers face when I asked him if full price was enough. Oh ya, it's currently the #2 lowest production serial number on the 169 registry and was built in early April of 1974. It is 100% original except for the replacement rear tires. It still has the same dirt on it from the guy I got it from.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
