Unfortunately picking up the tractor yesterday didn't work out. Hopefully today.

The best way I have found to deal with these are to first set the park brake and drag the tractor with a vehicle to a nice area (tires don't spin so it wont hurt the hydro). Next jack it up in the front as high as possible and remove both front tires/wheels (one bolt on each). Pull the deck out one side, reinstall the tires, let it down and load her up!

My advice is to rent/borrow a trailer that the deck will slide onto. The job you are going to attempt in high grass and who knows what kind of weather is not worth it. With a good rear ramp gate 6 foot trailer you will have it home in your heated garage and then you can work on it. I used to pick up JDs with the 60 inch deck on my 5 foot wide trailer and it made me go find a 6 foot trailer real fast after having to remove those monsters and then having to move them around by hand..

This may sound absurd but if it's not too far away you may want to consider having someone with a roll back pick it up and haul it to your place for you. Just a thought.

I'm still waiting on the owner so I can pick it up, he works a lot of hours. As far as picking it up I'm not sure what I am going to use yet. If I do take the deck off I may just leave the deck there while I bring the tractor home and come back with the tilt trailer and drag the deck on the trailer. It's only 5+- minutes from home. I have a 16' car trailer but it has something on it that's not easy to move. I also have the option to borrow a 6' wide trailer but I hate to borrow things if I don't have to. I do know the wait is driving me crazy! I can't wait to get her home and cleaned up and alive again!

I have good news. I will be meeting with the owner of the Super tonight and will be giving him money. I will be picking the tractor up tomorrow. It figures I have to work part of the day tomorrow so I will be picking it up in the afternoon. I can't wait!

Update: I finally have the tractor and mower deck in my garage. The pickup went smoothly. I released the deck and dragged the tractor backward slowly with a come along. It easily rolled over the top of the deck and on to the tilt trailer. Two of us picked up the deck and put in the back of my truck. It was much easier than expected. Tomorrow I will start cleaning it up more and checking it out.

I picked up the 2182 and washed it off on the way home. This one dirty neglected machine. I took a quick look at things and it looks like it's getting an oil change in the morning along with a new battery and a drain of the fuel tank and fresh gas. Does anyone know what the proper battery size is for the 2182? Another problem is the PO lost the key. What kind of key does it use and where can I get one? I'm hoping I can find one tomorrow locally. Hopefully I can get it started tomorrow. Here is a few pics.
