I bought a very inexpensive one, Monoprice Mini, about $180. It has a print volume of a 4.7 inch (120mm) cube.
I figured it was another skill to learn. Using 3D modeling software (I set up a free Tinkercad account) and learning how to convert files to gcode. (Cura software comes with the printer). I may get a more robust machine as I learn more about the technology. They've really come down in price.

I built a machine that ran on G-Code in the year 2000,,
these parts are 1 inch thick. This is a bracket that clamps on the rear axle of a gear drive Cub Cadet,,, Programming a part in G-Code, and having it in your hands minutes later is really something,,, |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
