Imho it would be easier and prolly cheaper to just find a gear drive cub to drop your engine into instead of putting all the gear drive parts into your hydro

Check with the sponsors at the top. With shipping costs, you would be better off finding a "junk" tractor for cheap and pulling the trans. You will probably have to "part" it together buying from different places.
On a side note. It is clear that you intend to go through with this project. But it sounds as though you need to do a little more research. If you plan to pull, you need to get with your local club and get the "rules". If not, you may build a tractor that they won't even let compete. Instead of spending a bunch of money for nothing, do the leg work and build it right. Otherwise, your going to end up spending too much, and being disappointed. If you plan to get into a hobby, at least have a clue what your getting into. |

IsaacSchuller,
You should dump the green tractor on your sig. Cub Cadets are IH tractors. IH's are RED! You might offend someone! LOL |

But you sound young and will probably pull it anyway. Have fun, that's why everyone is there. Take the advice gsomersjr gave in an earlier post and learn as much as you can from the regulars and if your enthusiastic about it I'm sure they will help you out. If you like it, take the time to build something that works. Bill |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
