We use a Interstate battery on our 782D. I think it is 425 CCA.

First off, DO NOT use ether on a Kubota engine! Make a habit out of that, and you'll crack the head.
The glow plugs are what makes the ammeter peg to the discharge side. If you have 12V at the solenoid with the key in the start position the solenoid is bad. Can you hear the solenoid clicking when you turn the key to start? Be careful- I had the starter go bad on my 782D, and something in the solenoid was malfunctioning and causing it to draw a lot of current, which fried the keyswitch. |

That's a old sleeve hitch plow not a cat 0 plow. You can't use a sleeve hitch with a smoker due to the gas tank in the way. I wonder why they welded that plate there for.

How did you get the hood to close on the 51 battery? It is way too tall for my 1772--the hood hits the posts. thanks

On the hood of my 1772, there are a couple bare metal spots where the battery posts hit the hood and grounded out.

I measured the clearance before I purchased a battery so I never used the 51.
The best(highest amp) I have found that would fit is the Interstate 340. If anyone has found a higher amp that fits it would be helpful to know-thanks |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
