As far as I know CNH is still selling Valspar paint through dealers but it's important to remember that that's not the same paint used in factories. I've had good luck with Iron Gaurd paint and have used several dozen gallons of it but I prefer urethane paint for jobs that warrant the extra expense. The hood panel below was painted with Iron Gaurd Gloss Red with a Gardner and sprayed with a good HVLP gun.

Is that wet sanded and buffed out?? Looks nice...that iron gard does have a good shine, and lays nice with minimal peel, like you said; with a decent gun.. i too like urethanes and bc-cc over single stage, but im not spending like that on a tractor thats going to mow and plow and take tree branches and such..i remember starting out spraying gravity boxes and other implements, was always enamels...urethanes are too hard for that abuse and just cost too much for equipment..always something to see them all faded out 5yrs later though!!! Paints have come a long way though...i hear even the waterborne paints are really good...the future...thanks again e.p.a.....

Valspar on Amazon
Stumbled onto 6 packs the other day. At $5.77 a can, I don't think I can go wrong. White and red will be out of stock for a couple months. Still have 2 yellows, for now.

Drove the 40 miles to Titan Machine in Marshall MN today( Was going that way anyways.) They had the Rouge 2150 in gallons and quarts. No luck on Federal yellow or 935 white. Waited my turn on the busy parts counter. Has been raining a lot the last couple days. Lots of farmers getting parts. Asked about Federal yellow and 935 white in Gallon or quart. NLA. Only available in rattle can.
Since I was there, paid $67.50 for the gallon of 2150 (future farmall cub repaint) Can of Federal yellow and white rattle can $9.95 each Plus MN state sales tax! Does anyone have a dealer with Iron Guard Yellow or White? |

When faced with redoing something we always try to use the cheapest stuff we can find and not considering quality. Then when it don't turn out we ball about it. Well that's why China has all the manufacturing.People are to cheap to pay up for good quality products. I'll stop here before I step on toes. But think about it. I don't want to |

It isn't always that someone "wants" to buy cheap paint, sometimes it's really the only way, 'cause when you go to the grocery store and a weeks worth of groceries for a family of 3 is over $150, plus all the other monthly bills, ya don't always have a choice if you want to have a little hobby. Just sayin'.

Agreed! It's just a hobby, most of us are not do restorations as much as making stuff look a little bit better than it was and keeping the rust off!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
