Default question please

I don't work on engines, the body work I can do. Since the engine was in good shape I didn't get anyone to look at it. So here comes the question, I took the governor lever off and didn't mark it. I was told that it is almost impossible to get that timed again. I know someone out there has some wisdom to lay on me. As I said I am not a mechanic, but I want to learn. I didn't have to clean so much on the Original and that didn't need to come off so I didn't have to worry about it. Help if you can.

Go to Kohler's website or the tech library here and download the service manual...it'll tell you how to reset the governor arm. Whoever told you that it's 'impossible' doesn't know what they are talking about.
