Coming right along, just as a FYI, do not loosen the "through bolts" in the steering "pump" ( what you mounted) as it can, and usually causes the multiple "O" rings to lose their mating seal, causing you to purchase a rebuild kit.
---don't ask me how I know

well lets hope not, but at least if i do I have hunted down the manual for that particular one (hopefully the rebuild if needed wont be to hard to get) not from a cubby, I ended up having to cut down the original shaft and cub shaft and mate them together to pull that thing off.

ok,
if it leaks usually the "kit" is less expensive from Deere, seems last one I bought was $80.
I am looking into getting just the "O" rings that I actually need for a reseal
of the pump, they are less than $.50 each, maybe spend $10 if that is all that is needed, and it should be.
It is just not thrifty to buy a kit when just a dozen "O" rings are needed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
