That's looking really nice. I saw a trick (maybe an obvious one) about plotting out bent lines on Jay Leno's YouTube channel. I may try it next time.

Well here is my progress as of tonight. Welded a 1/2" grade 8 n.f. bolt to the end of my ps cylinder, cleaned up the welds on both the ram and cylinder tube for mounting purposes. Cut and threaded my drag link from 1/2" cold round, built the mounting bracket for the other end of the ps cylinder to mount on, installed the parts and tested the range of motion.
I am quite pleased with the results as followed. I achieved end stop to end stop turning, and have full range of motion with the steering maxed out left to right and visa with the axle resting on each pivot stop WITHOUT any one part interfering with another. I then attached the sub frame of my mower deck and again, it fit without any interference with my modifications. YAY!! Good news so far, but it has yet to be tested hydraulically. I still need to beautify my mounting brackets, finnish plumbing the hydraulic outlets, and re-install the engine before that can happen. Nightow1 was nice enough to snap some high res pix for me to share since I was nice enough to let him use my plasma torch! The close up of the axle on the r.h. side (from the seat) is to show the tighter steering turning right that is somewhat difficult to achieve with a standard oem setup. |

Nice work!
What's the bracket on the LH side of the frame for? (Maybe you said and I missed it?) |

Just by eyeball it looks like you got a fair bit more steering out of it.
You may have already mentioned it, but are you planning on installing any positive stops so the ram can't twist up your linkage when the steering is maxed out, or do the ram and the steering max at the same time? |

I did manage to get it just right, the steering stops and cylinder both stop at the same time. The ql hydraulic lift cylinder has a stroke of 4 3/4", while the cyclops pwr steering cylinder uses a 4" stroke. The longer cylinder stroke allows for the most mechanical advantage with the maximum range of motion. Thanks Sam! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
