I looked for the best deal with free shipping on a valve that was for my tractor and got this one for $9.00. The one I removed from the Cub was the push/pull type with the screen. The sponsor offers these as the only aftermarket valve available as an an affordable choice because OEM can be nearly $45. I jumped on it. But it doesn't have the screen.

There's just not alot of room between the shutoff and the carb elbow to fit an inline filter..... especially considering the governor arm and linkage.
I tried it once and it just caused problems,.. maybe if you got a really small filter..

Is that techumsa valve 3/8"??
I ordered one off e-bay a while back and it turned out to be 1/4"
The QL's use a 3/8" hose IIRC

Mine is 1/4". That's what the aftermarket world has available. The OEM valve is like $45.

I have used these in tight areas before. Cool thing is it has a replaceable cartridge. They are meant for gravity fuel systems also.. 1/4" fuel line but they might have 3/8 also

Default You've got to be kidding?

Well, after all this pondering and adjusting and so on and so forth, I finally found out why the 1250 was starving for fuel when I was just about finished mowing. I only had about 5 to 10 minutes of mowing left and it would cut out and stall. Pulling the choke sometimes helped.
Answer: This new carburetor is really drinking up the gas. IT WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS! Before I could mow the entire acre on a tankful. Not now. Not with this new carb.

Well...... it happens, lol.

It actually probably was that the old carb wasn't giving it the gas it needed. Now it's getting what it needs. Economy isn't always good.

What he said. Old kohlers drink fuel pretty fast compared to modern engines.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
