So you were the guy that kept calling and texting while I was loading it up. He said someone told him he was selling it way too cheap. I just shrugged my shoulders and continued loading. He set the price so I did not feel too guilty. Yep, a good running Onan Performer 20. Only had to put tires and a seat on it. Most of the paint original. Looking for an original IH dash for it (little worn).

I have dual hydraulic kits for Supers. Blades, I have both manual and hydraulic. Blades do work great on Supers because they are heavy enough to scrape down to the ground.

I am only collecting Supers with Kubota's in them so you are safe. Had to get the 982 to replace the one I sold to a fellow member couple years ago. Now down to (8) 2182's (one with JD44 loader), (1) 1572 Diesel, (1) 2072, (1) 982, (1) 169 w/loader), (1) 1650 dual hydraulics and a parts 782, oh and one of those green 318's. Going to thin the herd so all are for sale if the offer is right!

Welcome to the super club, alas I no longer have my 2284, but others are out there.
Keep us posted on your progress.

I think I remember texting him a bit about not being surprised he had so much interest as it was priced to sell. Never called. I never feel guilty about paying asking price unless it’s something obscene. In reality, a non-running old garden tractor isn’t worth a lot to most people, folks on here excluded.

I’m looking for an ih dash for my 782 as well. I have one to put on it but it’s a little beat up and missing a small piece down by the lift lever.

Yep, I told him "SOLD" on the phone sight unseen, then when I arrived he tried to make me feel a little guilty. I just paid him his money, loaded and left. The dash I have on the 782 is not an IH but if interested I will go take a look at it!

It's not like I am hoarding all of the 2182's in Iowa, Terry seems to have snagged a couple before I could get to them! I have had a few 1782's, a 1772 and 1572 also but now have sold them all except for the 1572. Just don't care for the diesels after having gas Kubota's. I have had both the 2084 & 2284 with commands, which are a very good all around tractor. Plenty of power, use less fuel than KT's and start well in the winter for plowing or blowing snow.

OK, I'll be the dummy in the crowd.

What makes a garden tractor a SUPER garden tractor. I was told my 2082 (with 3 point) was a SUPER but never knew why. Other than it was large compared to my Dads 1811.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
