How bad is the dash tower? It looks pretty good in the pics. Wiring is no big deal, you can get a new harness for it. Rebuild the engine, some paint and body work and you have a nice tractor.

Supply Daughters name and mailing address and you can count on us sending her a pic and telling her that Daddy is going to make one like this just for her.

Ryan,
I like it! Just fix enough to keep it running. It will grow on you.
Regards,
Chris

Again, thank you all for your input. I did a little work to the tractor tonight. It needed new battery ends. I also put in some factory lights! I had some that have the same petina, haha. Got them in and working. Also switched front tires and put the grille back in. Still needs some wiring attention, which it wasnt as bad as I thought. Also needs an oil change, and unfortunately the engine smokes some. Might get a different engine before long. But, the clutch and tranny are very tight, and the motor although it smokes, has some good power. Here's some pics!

Sam, you can kind of see the dash in the one pic above. Its not as bad as I thought. I could scrap the angle iron and go with some new sheet metal like the original ones were. Easy fix with the wire welder.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
