I ran into crap like that with my Haban on my 2072. It just seems when you buy one of them, plan on looking at all the hangers and mounting points of the mule drive. Like has been said, welders and grinders are your friend.

Been at it hard degreasing, grinding, and sanding. The floorboards and fuel tank support pieces will find new color today. I think. That's the farm snow plow behind the hanging parts.

Been getting a bit of color done tonight. Never painted one in halfs before. Want the the frame painted before I put the rear end back in. If things go well I'll pull the engine and finish the front half of the frame in the next week. Color is close. It is a sight better than the peeling rusted mess it was prior.

Looking good Steve!

The 2182 is a great machine.. the Kubota is super smooth and super powerful..

I had similar problems with my Haban hanger and mule drive.. But with some time, patience, welder, grinder, drill and a lathe I resized everything.. Now the Haban cuts like new and doesn't make a single rattle or squeak!

Good luck and keep us posted.. you will love the 2182 when all done!!

In addition to the 2182 clean up and paint job coming along nicely I had to add how jealous I am of the LARGE cleared out work area in that shop!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
