That's the reason I didn't mind the relatively light weight of the IH weights and just bought them because they're cool. My gut is plenty for my machines.

I did just have another thought for cheap weights... Never seen it done but it could be easy enough.... Go find some old brake drums at the junk yard that fit inside the wheels. Drill some holes and mount. You could put a smaller one on the inside (13" wheel car, like an Escort or something) then mount some huge medium duty truck drum on the outside of it for the actual weight. You'd need some manly bolts but the weights shouldn't cost more than scrap metal. This will obviously alter the width of the tractor if that is an issue.

I did something similar sept I found some drums with the same lug pattern laying in the dirt. Filled them with cement and used two opposing lug nuts (longer of course) to bolt them in. Worked decent but was ugly

Also a good call! That's also why I have my "pretty" weights to go over the ugly ones if I ever want actual weight.

You've given me another (terrible) idea.. Get a set of totally roached wheels (wheel horse, something green, whatever.. around here they're cheap), put some conduit over the mounting holes and tape off the other ones, and fill THE ENTIRE RIM with cement or whatever. If you sunk some J bolts in the "whatever" to put bolts through the wheels the slug might even stay in there.

All of this is sounding like more work than filling them though...
