I may just take it apart and sell it....(I hate that idea )

I call for a "rendez-vous" again later today, I need to check that puppy with my own eyes ASAP.
For the price and what's on the tractor, who cares what color it is??
Go buy it, make it yours, and figure the rest out later. That thing deserves a better life than being out in the weather!

Thanks, Roland, for the white and yellow 782/982 pics. I guess I need to pull out my CC books and look them up. I honestly never realized they made them that way.

Story about Red Cub Cadets---
I vividly remember buying our first cub cadet. My wife and I needed a garden tractor after a little riding mower gave up the ghost on our newly purchased 1.5 acre first home property in 1979. Her Dad had a 128 and suggested we look at a Cub Cadet. We went to the local dealer and found a used 108 with a deck, and paid dearly for it--$1500. Remember, this is 1979. That was A LOT of money then. But it was less than those new red ones lined up in the showroom and outside under the canopy.

The salesman lamented the change in colors and almost discouraged us from looking at them. "They ain't the same any more" he told us. They delivered that 108 a few days later, and I'm still using it today, albeit with a 12hp engine right now. (I have the original engine completely rebuilt, ready to put back in it should the mood strike me).

I think I mention this tractor is park in a warehouse in post number 6 of this thread so your attempt to make me felt guilty of letting this child outside is not working...LMAO

Joke aside I'm on my departure to meet the owner at his warehouse and it's apparently full of antique, so I bring my tools, some gas and oil, my borescope camera, a freshly charge battery and more money then need just in case....

Back with pictures later since we all like pictures

I'm back with the 100 in my trailer, I take a few pictures but there was too much candy in that store to show them all here, I have to find my way between many Case, Simplicity, John Deere, Sears, Ford and a ton of implement. A huge warehouse so full you can barely walk in and some of those tractor look brand new. since they are not all Cub Cadet relate, I will not post them here.

The 100 sitting beside a Kubota G series diesel and behind a ST 12 Sears

A clean 1811 behind that super clean green "Thing"

A unidentified 82 series sitting beside that gorgeous little wheel horse.

Yes he has, few years ago he was the biggest reseller of used tractor in his neck of the wood (Lennoxville).

The red 100 engine don't start, the clutch disk hold by only one stud, if I push the brake pedal the disk fall down and hit the frame and guard, engine look pretty nasty too, as soon I got spare time I try dealing with it and post pictures but I felt lucky he cut $50 on the asking price of my new boat anchor.....LMAO

The headlights work! The wings need some body work and I have no idea of the tranny, creeper or generator condition yet, I cross my finger and lit a wax candle at my local church.

Few update on the "Red" 100:

Serial number is 73306 so it's a 1963, I scratch some paint at different location and find no trace of yellow yet on the tranny, frame and body. I will try paint remover ASAP but I can tell you right on the bat the painter did a hell of job.(I didn't check under the hood yet)

Engine his black and some parts have been replaced with yellow one, spec number is 46179A, (International Harvester 10HP), I can read only 6 serial number 812439. since it's a A pan the dipstick is on the carburetor side. , the muffler don't look to be OEM 100 and finally the clutch driving disk and driving plate are both toasted.

Here a few pictures:

I see the throttle stop in the last pic is not in the correct position...may be why the clutch flew apart.

I got many issue to take care on this engine and you just point me out to another one. Like I already says this one is no easy runner. He need lot of elbow oil.

Can a clutch drive disk really flew apart because this engine over rev up? We talking about how much? 4000rpm max? I definitely need to read the K series Kohler manual to fix every "gremlins" before I purchase any parts to restore this tractor.

More I look at it, more I want to restore this little Daredevil, I like his bloody color.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
