A Quietline SGT is going to be very cool. I have a 1872 that is being restored red and black like a 88 series and I am currently putting together the parts to build a 149 SGT probably based on a 1872/2072/2084, repowered and painted red and cream with a 66 series type grill. The SGTs are perfect for me and look correct but still unique when combined with other model hoods. I excited to see your project come together...

Got the fender pan mounts moved/raised welded up. Boy, I tore this thing apart almost four years ago AND moved since then, just FINDING the parts is a challenge on this one! Lol. And BOY, am I lucky J-mech is here to make sure I get "edumacaited" on all things Cub Cadet. I'll be sure and change what I've done to his ideas, It's most likely the only way to do anything.

Before anything gets out of hand, let me say that I can not go a day without checking here on only Cub Cadet. I have been posting my progress on this project because I want to share what I'm doing. I haven't asked for advice, or help with anything so far. I know the difference between a lawn tractor, garden tractor, and super garden tractor, I am building neither one of those I am building something to entertain myself and mow the grass with. I can not paint as good as some members here, I can not weld as good as others. But that will not stop me from doing what I enjoy right here in my garage I hope you enjoy seeing what I cobbled together here.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
