Cool deal, Don! You'll get some seat time in the snow to try them out.

We had 6" of heavy wet snow last night and I spent 3 hours on the Cub. Brought it into my garage, and NO leaks from the valves! Thanks to everyone for your help with the mess I was in. Don

Not a bad idea to rebuild the originals as spares or loaners. Bob

To have the old ones rebuilt costs more than half of new ones. If the new ones last 21 years like the old ones did, I will be 80 years old and I'll pay someone to fix my 42 year old tractor, and probably forget where I put the rebuilt valves! Don

Don - you may be all fired up to tackle the problem at 80 - hope I still can. Was thinking if this was an item that could be put in a loan pool for members to help in troubleshooting??. Would be willing to rebuild loaners.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
