I just put in these new garden beds this spring. My lovely wife decided they were to small as I had to expand to fit here desires.
I started the day off with twin 15x8 beds and finished with 35x22 foot beds. I mixed in some top soil mix that my local mulch place makes. Good top soil is hard to find in my neck of NC so they mix mulch with chicken poo and cow poo and some clay sell it as top soil. It's black in color with wood chips to help retain water.Started today by unhooking the tiller and getting the plow on the 125. I like to cut the grass and roots off and take the sod out of the garden to help keep the grass out of the garden. I usally use the loader to scoop the sod up and dump in in the low spots in the yard. After 3 loads I lost reverse on the 100 and parked it and dropped the plow and put the garden cart to the 125 and loaded it by hand. Boy that sucked! It took me 3 hours to get it all removed. I hooked the plow back up and plowed the where I took the sod off at. Then I dumped my top soil mix into the freshly plowed area and tilled it in. I went over the garden 3 times to get it nice and level.I didn't take any pics the 100 me off to much so I passed on the pics. I will have before and after pics once we plant tomorrow. I do have pics from when the first part of the garden was put in. I'm sure you all didn't want to see pics of my using my loader again, well for three loads anyways. Evan and I walked thru the garden to see how far we would sink and he was most impressed with his foot prints. I sunk down about 3.5 inches so it's nice and fluffy for the plants to grow and expand their roots. Got to retill to get rid of all of our foot prints.

Hey Duke, I'm sure your lovely wife appreciates all your hard work. I'm ready (and anxious) to prep a new garden for us too. It's just been too wet to turn the soil over. We'll just have a small garden, but it'll still be fun using the plow and tiller for he first time. Hope the repair on your 100 goes well. Share some photos of your garden if you get a chance.

You had a busy day for sure. I was able to get my garden spot turned a month ago or so, but has been so wet and rainy, I can't get anything else done with it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
