This Week, i reassmbled the Transmission, with some new Bearings and Oil Seals. I'm also waiting for the Rest of Parts from the Sandblaster, he have much to do at Time.

The 7 x 12 Rear Tires are too big for the Fenders, i changed it for 6.50/80 x 12 Kings Tires, i think it's looking better. I want to keep the Fenders in original Condition.

mfg Georg

Yesterday, I got the Engine Parts back from the Machine Shop. The cylinder is bored for the bigger Piston, Valve Service is done, and the Crank turned over. Today, we want to reassemble the motor, ( a Friend of mine, the Admin from the german IH Forum, www.ihc.de, is visiting me for a few Days, with his Girl Friend).
Finally, the Parts are back from the Sandblaster, it gave me some delay, and the time is running, in 3 Weeks, we have the big European IH Show.

I hope, I can paint the Parts this Week.

What do you think, should I paint the Carburetor with the Engine, or should I not?

mfg Georg

Good job Georg. On the Carburetor paint issue, I personally think that it should NOT be painted. I nicely cleaned and polished aluminum carburetor looks awesome and functions correctly.

Agree on the carburetor, bare metal. If and when the fuel gets out, it will immediately go to work softening that nice new paint.

Following the same logic, don't paint the head, either.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
