If Avy=Avalanche, Chevrolet made some on 3/4 ton chassis. Most are on the 1/2 ton frames though. Easy to tell by the 8 lug axles, as the 1/2 tonners use 6 lug axles. In the meantime, I'd look into street oriented performance brake pads if you notice brake fade with your current setup. For towing I'd get Wagners or Raybestos at least; stay away from the bronze/silver/gold mystery brand brakes at the parts store. One other benefit to the 'good stuff'- less dust on the wheels and less brake noise.

If you tow a lot, also look into a larger transmission cooler. My grandpa-in-law had a F350 diesel that had a bad transmission when he got it, and he burnt it up in 2 years of pulling a 5th wheel camper. Of course, Arizona heat and a big ol camper aren't good factors in keeping a transmission cool, especially in the mountains. Ever since then I've been a big proponent of aftermarket transmission coolers/high capacity auto tranny pans, etc. Lots of options out there. PM me if you have any questions.

Back to cubbin!

Mine is a 1/2 ton. I've upgraded the brakes in the past. When I went from the factory 16" to 20" I lost a good bit of braking, so I changed out the calipers and went with one size larger rotors too. I've been running EBC brand pads for a while. I don't know what part of Michigan you're in, but the WV hills/curves are what's killer around here. Don't know if that's much of a factor in your vicinity. Also, my trailer doesn't have brakes, so....

I didn't tow an extra lot in the past, but now I've got my trailer hooked up and "loaded" usually 3 days a week.

A few action mowing shots...

those narrower fronts are starting to grow on me too. I kept watching the front tires as I was mowing. I felt a strong urge for a pipe, plaid pants and a fishing hat!

oh ya, I need a cardigan too.... gotta get that "leave it to beaver" setting done right. That's what I feel like riding on it, straight outta the early 60's even though it's not that old.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
