pretty neat looking trailer!! Congrats! Looks big enough to haul quite a bit of stuff! Don't take this the wrong way, but please attach those tie downs you speak of adding to something other than the plywood deck. With as much size past that front wheel I'll bet you can just figure out how to load it with as little tongue weight as possible and it will still pull great! I like the tilt part would like to see it close up actually, never seen one tilt like that but i've only seen home built tilts and like Only1Stegall stated with those you'd have to load the BRS in the van to get them to pull right....

Nice trailer! Love the dodge grand caravan thats pullin it.lol I'd have to say thats not just a van, but a manvan when it hauls your cubs.

That is a factory built snowmobile trailer. That is why it tips the way it does and the thing in back just under the deck is where the ramp would go if you have it. Some of the snowmobile trailers are built with 2 main rails that run the length of the deck. And on those some are built so that the axles (spring perches) are held in place with u bolts. If they are on yours you should be able to slide them back. Just be careful how far you go. Two things to remember. First is the farther back you move them the harder it will be to tip and it may not want to stay tipped without help. Second ,these trailer are light, and are built for light loads. This being said they are built with the axles spread apart like that. This allows them to be more on the middle then the back and still tow great. Always load a little nose heavy though. Another point to remember is that these trailers are built with the mind set that most of them will not be pulled by a big truck or SUV that can handle a good amount of tongue weight. We pull allot of trailers around here. We never weigh them or calculate them out for the best Per axle weight. We usually load center then move forward till the tow vehicle looks loaded (not over loaded) and go with it. Never had a problem.

I haven't tried tilting it while hooked to the van, but it will not tilt back and stay while unhooked. I think I will go the route of some arched ramps when hauling the cub and implements. It will just be easier to work with. With the ramp holder underneath, there is just too much clearance to overcome and if I am pulling the disc set up the trailer will want to tilt back down before I can get the complete rig up and on the trailer. The Spring perches are welded on, non movable. I think it hauls and travels like a dream compared to the single axle trailers I have had both large and small over the years.

A couple of updates to the hauler and a pic for Duke.
My buddy and I replaced all of the lighting and wire harness with new. Welded a new tongue jack on, built a bulkhead, and I purchased a nice set of aluminum ramps and installed some d-rings to hook the straps onto to hold the ramps in place when traveling and to also hold the ramps in place when loading and unloading. I am extremely pleased in how well the trailer pulls and supports the weight. Nowhere near the harshness of the 5X8 trailer I had when pulling. Here are a couple pics of the BRS on the hauler Duke.   My new drawbar to use with the hydraulic disc and to pull my trailer around with.
