mrcubcadet......you're making great progress on a very worthwhile cause! Is his grandson involved in the restoration? I think that would be very meaningful if he was able to get involved somehow, even if he isn't mechanically inclined. Thanks for sharing lots of great pictures of your progress. Keep up the great work!

Thanks! And you bet!...Tomorrow I'm going to try and get an old window air conditioner in there! ![]() Quote:
Thanks, bud! And, not yet. But I have talked to him and he will be coming out soon...at least to check it out, and hang out. He is good friends with the painter..so I would guess he will be spending some time there, while it gets painted!

I finally seem to have all my parts for this project! Paint, decals, rebuilt relief valves, trans-to-rearend cork gasket, and rearend cover gasket.
![]() Have decided to save a little money, have some fun, and just do this restoration myself...Hope to get some progress done with the trans gaskets, and prepping this week.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
