They are scarce, they weren't the kind of thing everyone bought. You see one on eBay every once in a while, but other than that you don't see many posted for sale.

Haban cornered the market as far as sickle mowers for garden tractors. Didier Hydra sickle co. (the one I have) was built for a short period of time and was more advanced using the hydro unit that was self contained on their mowers. Haban caught on to the hydro mowers as they were easier to mount and more forgiving if caught/hit something the blade wouldnt cut. Haban later bought out Didier and closed the manufacturing of the hydro units. More Didier sickles are out there but are Deere specific, very few were Cub specific from my understanding.

Is the rear PTO that you can add to ih cubs really only for the tiller, or is it possible to find a really small brush hog?

She's a good egg, went with me today to drop off the frame for Vince. What great people Kevin's folks are, nice visit. Kevin's mom came pulling up on a Kabota, with a 60" deck hanging off of the front, now that was a lawnmower! I should have took a pic, but didn't think. |

I don't think the tiller actually used the PTO it just used the right angle gear box and the front PTO from the engine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
