Yep that's a good enough pic. Even though I had to tilt my head It has the IH carburetor on it. If I remember correctly, there is only one IH carb option so it should be easy. Is that what you needed to know?

It look like an IH carb (not a Zenith), get a kit from an IH dealer or from Steiner Tractor parts, don't get one from TSC or you will be sorry. It costs a little more but this is one of those things you get what you pay for.
This is a complete kit and includes the idle tube that can be expensive by itself, they have cheaper kits if you don't need the tube.

Be careful separating the carb, the idle tube is often broken during this procedure.

You can get a FREE replacement Safety gas cap through the following link :

Nice looking LoBoy!

Good luck,

David

Thanks guys! So what model is mine? Is it a 154? I'm not real familiar with these. I believe it to be either a 67 or 68 and I know it has a C60. It needs a bunch of seals. There's hydraulic fluid leaking everywhere and there's quite a bit of oil build up along the oil pan and where the motor bolts up to the bell housing. I'll do it a little bit at a time. Still trying to finish my original as well.

I kept quitting on me at random times, usually on a hill or trying to run in 3rd. It ran a lot better at half choke though. I took the oil bath breather apart and there was a ton or crud built up in it. The top screen was gummed up pretty good as well, so I cleaned everything out (including the tube to the carb) and filled it up with oil. I figured I'd go ahead and clean the carb as well, but the main gasket fell apart and when I put it back together it leaked.

What type of oil is best for the breather?

If it runs better with the choke on, it's running lean. IH recommended 30wt in the air breather. (Anything close to that is fine.... I.E. 10W-30.) I think it's stamped into the side housing of the oil bowl, near the fill line.

Ordered the carb kit and the hydraulic cylinder block seal kit from farmallparts.com. I'll get the card lined out asap so I can mow with it. The hydraulic cylinder will be done on a time permitting basis. I'd like to put all new seals in the motor, but tearing a motor down is a little more than my limited experience permits. My next purchase will be front wheel bearings. I've still got my original in pieces as well. I've got plenty to do now

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
