You will find yourself with multiple single use tractors. So far between my son and I we have 7 cub tractors, 1 off brand and 1 snow thrower and three 2 stage blowers and 2 blades. Three of our tractors are supers that really get the job done. Plus we just decide which tractor gets what set up for the winter and deal with snow as it comes. Watch out snow will cause more cubs in the garage or shed.

Ok, well the one I showed was a model #450. Started making them in the 80's. Later they came out with a #451. The two are geared different. So, they can't be interchanged....easily anyway. It all depends on what tractor you are putting it on. I highly doubt you are going to want one on a tractor with manual lift, the 450's are HEAVY. Also, they use the 5/8 belt.
How about this. What tractor are you wanting to put a blower on? That will narrow down your choices. |

i personally think snow throwers are useless. i use a blade everytime. either on the garden tractor that is in the front of the garage at the time, or the plow truck. even some of the high end walk behind blowers ive used don't hold a candle to a good ole 3/4 ton 1980's 4wd plow truck!

my driveway is 600 ft long and all up hill. I did have a blade on my old tractor and had no problems pushing down but had to stay in my path going up, scratching all the way, turn around and haul a$# going back down. Figured a snow blower would work going both ways, anyone have any input. Thanks

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
