My father was a mechanic all his life and it has rubbed off on me. I love tinkering with things moving or not. Been 30 years fixing up my old house.. circa 1750. Saved it from being razed.
It is now on the historical registry, both National and State. I have been true to it's originality just like my other things.  Bought it for less than what a small car costs today. All my adventures hasn't cost much money if you are willing to put elbow grease into the equation.

Well I got the Original situated in it's winter home. Had to take off the front wheels. Get the front through the door. Take off back wheels, using a dolly more it through and put the rear tires back on.   PS.. Swapped out S/G, hit with a little starter fluid, started right up! I will have to rebuild the carb but it ran nice with no smoke. .

My house:
  My living room:  Kitchen/Dining room.:  Where I am sitting right now:  Lord Fairfax lived near here and George Washington did surveying for him when he was young. Fairfax owned millions of acres. Fairfax stayed loyal to the crown during the Revolutionary War and had his lands confiscated after the war. My ancestor, Richard Kidder Meade, was an aid de camp to Washington and fought all during the war with Washington. After the war Washington bought up large tracts of the Fairfax estate and resold parts to his friends. My ancestor was told by Washington to come to the valley of Va. and buy land. When he bought the tract of land anything on that tract went with the land. My house was on the land. Meade moved in around 1780 and lived here and enlarged it until he built a larger home which is still standing. Bishop Meade (important dude with the Episcopal Church) Richard's son was born in this house. It stayed in my family until 1909. Until I bought it back it had no running water or bathrooms. That is why it stayed unchanged all those years. It is cited as a fine example of frontier log home for that period. Also because Bishop Meade was born here. The house is made with chestnut logs with original floors and woodwork. Big stone fireplaces on both ends. John PS George Washington's and Fielding Lewis' signatures are both on the original deed. Deed book No. 1 Fredrick County. .

Cyprus stump I've had for years.
The butcher block is a real one and weighs a ton. Lift it up and the legs fall out. Not attached, just held in place by the weight of the block.
