Excellent! Nice to have friends like that. The 149s are cool.

A lyric from a song by Rod Stewart started running through my head when I saw your first post: "Some guys have all the luck." Good score!

I found a decent 149 with hydro lift yesterday. I offered $150 for it and he took the offer and then backed out. Bummer. It might still happen but I don't know.

No, it's a different tractor. I was just looking on cl and saw the one in Whatley. About the same condition though. Whately is about ten miles from me and has had a Cub Cadet dealership there since the 1960's. It's farm country.

I've been to the dealership a few times and they've been picked clean of nos stuff. I may give the guy on cl a shout to see what he's got though. There are alot of cubs in that area and most are still going. New england farmers are very resourceful.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
