Well I got the arms Wednesday & gave them a quick coat of paint & got over to Dad's this afternoon. We pulled the deck & mule drive off the 1811 & I swapped the arms & pulley on the QA. We wrestled it on & I think I got the pulley squared up & belt tightened up. While I was there I helped him put the chains on the tires & then we fired it up. For sitting for probably 15 years (at least) the QA ran pretty good. It was late when we finished up so we didn't get it in the snow yet but maybe tomorrow, although its supposed to be very cold again.

Anyway I wanted to say thanks for all the help. I pulled his weights off my 782 so we can put them on the 1811 & I'll try to get some pics. I'm dying to try it out.

Well Dad got it out & tried it this afternoon. Mom took a picture out their back window & emailed it to me.
photo.jpg

He said it ran good but snow is so hard & icy he doesn't want to tear it up. I went over there tonight after work & dug out the side shields & put them on. Hood needs a little adjustment to fit just right but it looks a lot better. For whatever reason Dad never ran the shields on his 1250, 1650 or this 1811.

Anyone know what color the stock tunnel cover is on an 1811? He's got the cover from his old 1650 on it. I'm thinking it must have been missing when he got this tractor. The rear wheels & tires are from his 1650 too, the 18 had Ags on it when he got it.

Looking at this picture makes me think I need to track down an IH emblem for the grill.

Anyhow thanks for the help everyone, I appreciate it. It was really enjoyable doing this little project with my Dad.

Great pics! The tunnel cover should be yellow.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
