If you lose any height, it won't be any more than a half inch. Run with it.

Run a tape measure around what you have now and see if you can get one of the guys that has the type of tire you are thinking about to also measure their's or call the manufacturer who should be able to supply you with the circumference measurement. Just my 2 cents, your results may vary.

I measured my current tires and they are aprox 22 1/4" tall to the center of the tire with the tires on the tractor and 10 lbs of air in them. I have not measured around the tire. I have dealt with lots of tires in my life and it's crazy how you can measure two different tread type tires from the same manufacturer and they will measure different, even though they say the same size on the sidewall. Even the size quoted by the manufacturer on their website is not always accurate in my experience. I most likely will just order them and hope for the best. Mabe I'm just overthinking things as usual! I am having them filled with RimGuard when I get them mounted, so between the high price of the Firestone tire and the price of the RimGuard it is not going to be cheap, almost half of what I paid for the 882. To me the price paid is soon forgotten when you get a quality product you are happy with. I'm just trying to make sure I'm making the proper choice. Thank You.

I'll pull my 882 out today and get some measurements for you. I have 10 diesels and never used a mower deck on one of them so I will measure off of the height of the fender pan. I think you will be happy with that set up.

10 diesels? No wonder I had a hard time finding a diesel, you have them all! LOL! If you could measure like you said and then also from the ground to the tallest part of the tire that would be great. More pics of your 882 would be great also. We all love pics. Nice Machine. Thank You!

Let us know what the Rim Guard costs. I've looked into it, but my tire guys refuse to deal with it. I like CaCl2 anyway. It's heaviest. CaCl2 is a little over $2 a gallon at my tire shop, IIRC. So 7 gal (per tire) is pretty cheap.

I had my tires filled on my Case 646 FEL about 6 months ago and it was just under $4 a gallon where I got it from. I found a place that would do it for closer to $3 a gallon but it was a longer drive to the place. RimGuard weighs a little less than chloride but it's not corrosive or poisonus to animals. Chloride will eat through your rims if the tube leaks, and kill your animals if they eat it. RimGuard does not require a tube so it works out to be the same price or cheaper than calcium chloride. RimGuard does require metal valve stems because it will dissolve the glue that holds the metal part into some rubber valve stems. Here is a pic of the stubby metal stems in my 646 rims, I will be using them on my 882.

the firestones are really nice. it's an investment buying tires so get whatever makes you happy. i mounted the 23x10.50-12 deestones on wider wheels . they have a weird offset but, worked with my 42' mowing deck.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
