![]() ![]() ![]() Oh, at Portland, Miller was selling the narrow tri-ribs for $60/pr. with tubes, but the salesman cut me a deal for $50/pr with tubes. Now, I'm going strictly with Miller Tire for all my cubbies. Cub Cadet 123

I got my front tires for my model 72 for $45 a piece with tubes from Miller Tire. Though, during the winter I run a Firestone 8.5 rear tire with new two-link tire chains. These chains are cheap, I think I liked my four-link cleated a lot better. But my new chains work great, and that's all that matters!
During the summer, or after the snow stops, I run these 10.5's on the back so I'm not limited to the ground. I leave the chains on the 8.5's, and simply swap out road tires. For the 1450, I really want a new set of Firestone 23 x 10.5 x 12 flotation ag tires, loaded with Rim Guard! To heck with the cast iron weights on the rear, I'd rather have a set inside on the model 72!

I've been working later than normal the past few days, so I still don't have pictures. On a side note, someone mentioned in a different tire thread about the tri-ribs being a bear to mount to the rim. They didn't lie. If I had to do very many of them, I would be looking to purchase something like THIS

Nah... If you had to do very many of them you'd get really good at it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
