Nice machine Sam. Which direction was the road trip? Hum, 240 miles, could have been around many of us. Mike

It was in Seven Springs NC. Not too far from Allen C. Wish I had more time I would have made a visit to see him.

Not much to see, just got a piece of 3/8" plate, drilled it for the bolt holes on the winch and welded it to the top rail of the trailer. Bolted the control box on the underside of the top rail and plopped a plastic battery box on the deck and strapped it to the corner post. Wires are just sitting on the deck at the moment. I was in a rush to get it useable. Needs to be finished.

Congrats on the machine, Sam! It looks like it's in good shape, especially that deck. Hope it finds a good home, but wherever it ends up, I'm sure it'll be in much better shape by then. Look forward to the progress pics!

The deck looks a lot better in pics than up close. It has a couple of rot holes and one of the front wheels is in pretty bad condition but I'm sure I can come up with some way to save it.

Got it running, wiring is a mess, shut down solenoid on the carb is stuck. I just happened to have a carb for a WG-600 so I swapped them, hooked up my patented Sam Mac fuel tank and she lit right off. Went to take some pics and the battery in my camera is dead. It's being charged at the moment so pics to follow.

Good on ya getting it running, gotta love it when it's an easy fix. Don't you know to have an extra charged battery for your camera at all times yet?! Keep the pics coming!

First 2 pics are the "Sam Mac fuel system" as some of you know the 2182 and the diesels use an electric primary fuel pump. Well on this tractor the tank bushings are totally rotted off so no way to use the tractor fuel system until the fender pan is pulled, tank removed and the issue is fixed. The pump sprayer supplies fuel to the carb. Actually works very well. The other pics are of the patient on the operating table.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
