I would have tried that. It would have been easier to work with than 3/4" thick belting.

The tire idea is a good one, too!!

The mudflap, well, it might be too "flappy"!!

And the firm I drive for part time, Henderson Mfg, we just finished delivery of 40 big Freightliner tandem units to the Indiana DOT a few weeks ago.

The mudflap I was talking about was one of those heavy plastic one that are white in color. I have one laying around somewhere I used to lay on the gravel to kneel on to change tires with.
