You are right Mark. If I had the extra cash, times were right, and it was in a reasonable driving distance, I would have bought it if I had the chance. It would go in my collection, and it would stay there for a long time. End of story

It's not about the money for me at all! I just want it to go to the right person and be able to say I owned one for a minute or two. That's it.

This is going to shock many of you but money is not very important to me. I find the more I have the less time I have to spend it or spent time with my friends, family, and Cubs.

The seller is smart, he did not list a phone number.

My thoughts exactly Ryan.

I agree with the others, but I would say it's worth $2000 for the tractor with the M&W. It's a once in a lifetime thing pretty much.

When are ya pickin' it up Lew?

It's really to each their own. If I found one sitting in a barn and could get it bought reasonably, I'd probably buy it to keep and restore, not resell. But when you have one like this that the owner is trying to get top dollar (we all probably would if we were selling ) I would pass. I have no desire to dump 2 grand into a cub to just stare at and not use. And like Jon pointed out, the O needs a total restore and the rearend fixed. Prolly dump quite a bit more money into it unless you had another O to put it on. I'd rather put that money towards something I want or will use like another smoker or two, a super, etc. Shoot, I'd rather have the big brother of a smoker, say a 1206 or 1456.

The last couple 9 speeds that sold on Epay sold between $1200-1500 just for the M&W IIRC.

That is NOT a Lew price! I bet the Drone spotted this one.

What's a 1456, Josh?

I'm pretty sure that speculation drives the price of EVERYTHING...

Do you think that people who buy grain futures, buy them to resell them later at a reasonable price, or do they buy them to sell later at whatever the market will bear?

If it weren't for speculation you would be getting $1.25 a bushel for your wheat, weather a collector buys it or not and you would still be paying 2 bucks for a loaf of bread.

Yep, a CC's BIG TURBO CHARGED brother. Helped Dad put the rebuilt injection pump and injectors in his 1456 a couple weeks ago. It was a hoss before, now that thing is snappy! Will really walk the 6/16 710 plow now.

When you say the drone spotted it, Lew's or Mike's (cubcrazy)? Mike must be busy filling that new building. Hasn't been around too much lately.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
