Yep, 1772 only made for one year. I've been trying to find production numbers, but haven't had any luck, yet.......... For being low production and "rare", there's been alot of them up for sale lately.

I'm with Todd and Jon on the price. Atleast for his asking price of three grand, he should throw in the Haban blade.

Good luck with the 982. Don't forget the pics if ya snag it!

If that 982 was the same one I saw pics of a day or so ago, it looked really nice with the exception of the tattered seat. Make sure you take some pictures when you look at it in person, regardless if you purchase it or not

And I don't blame the guy for starting out at $3000 with the 1772. It's always easy to come down on the price, maybe he's the type of old timer that likes to barter back and forth.

Either tractor would be a pleasure to own, its been fun to watch how this thread has evolved.

I saved the pics but it's hard to tell if it has dual brakes.

I would have been happy with the super smoker, just wasnt happy with the price. Can't go wrong with this 982 though. It has most of the goodies.

It is hard to tell, but if it didn't have turning brakes there wouldn't be anything there. Theres definitely some sort of pedal there.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
