It's a fairly even split around here between the box store stuff and the narrow frames and quietlines. Still don't see many of the 1x8/1x9s

Believe it or not, my area, N.E Ohio, is very rich with IH, CCC, MTD, Cub Cadet brands. I also think Illinois, Indiana, and western PA are biggest states that have Cub Cadets.

But, in my area, there are many, many Cub Cadet dealerships, and other large tractor/garden dealerships. So, the new models are what you can find any time. I have to say, people are becoming hip to these incredible garden tractors. Realizing what they can do and offer in real world applications, is the main reason why the zero turns fail to deliver the knock out punch. Each has their own practical use. Folks like us love the true 4 seasons. It makes much more sense to have a land plow, mower, snow thrower, ect., ect., on one versatile machine such as a IH Cub Cadet garden tractor.

The craig's list is not the whole ball of wax. I have seen IH cub Cadets come up for sale and they are mostly the wide frame models. You wont see many Originals, Supers, or 82 series here for some of the reasons I already mentioned.

I have found most of my IH Cub Cadets in scrap yards as well. I have put together some fine gt's with these parts that were in amazing condition. As a matter of fact, just down the road from me, is a nice 149 in the weeds. So, you just have to know where to look to know what models of Cub Cadets are in your local area.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
