Again I'm not telling him that it's rings 100 percent but you were very quick as usual to make it seem like what I said was not a possibility and I didn't exactly say use a 500 dollar leak down tester for the test for you said it's a complete waste of time but now you're ok with doing it that way. Anyway I'm just reacting as others have when they are completely shut down by you.

I just had a generator that I had to rebuild that a guy brought to me and said it needed a fuel cleaning because it ran for about 5 minutes and shut down, smoke, etc. turns out the air filter was disintegrated and when it ran it had sucked the old filter pieces inside the cylinder, melted around the rings and stuck them causing no compression, tons I blow by out the crank case vent and dipstick. Does this this happen all the time? No, but it can happen and all I was trying to say is IF those 2 symptoms he is describing are true, then it's possible and I did say compression/leak down, not just one.

The debate is not really about what test is better than the other but how sometimes you come across as the only guy here who knows what he's doing on things and the way you shut people down with your opinion/credentials just gets me going. I don't like your condescending opinions and telling me to pipe down or whatever is unnecessary because you start stuff like this with members all the time.

I'm out of this thread just please try to realize that there are others here that are experienced and do this stuff for a living too, just like you

No Sam, not at all. There are opinions here. An opinion is just that, it's not a fact but ones belief. Opinions that differ are not wrong, just different and I'm trying to let Jon know that his opinion is not always Gospel. I apologize for the name calling but some self realization around here would help.

Let's figure this out....

It's the cheapest Husqvarna LT in the line up build in 2005, he already get 10 years of service out of this $1200 LT! I'm surprise the deck is not already "Kaput" and the tranny is not stock in one of it 6 speed.

Now from there you can figure if this LT worth his weight in steel.

I think next time I will keep my mouth shut. Everyone has an opinion and is entitled to it. I just thought I'd share what happened and get some opinions/ ideas. I change oil in that mower every year, blow it off clean the deck and she has no oil leaks. Doesn't look 10 year old. Spark plug was white until the recent event. My money's the n head gasket. And needing a carb cleaning.

Apology if I sound rude but let's be honest we both know all those entry level LT have a short lifespan. You did actually a great job keeping it in top shape, you get 10 years because it's a manual Peerless tranny, lot of cheap none serviceable hydro crap out after 5 years or 250hr.

If you think you can fix it for cheap go ahead and make your day, after all it's your time, your money and your tractor!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
