Thanks for clarifying guys. So if this one had an alum rear, how about the standard 582 (not 582 special)?

Wha'ts the plan for this one, restore it since it is a bit odd?

582 could have a CI or AL depending on when it was built.

I just didn't want the hassle of another twin, I'm not made out of money and rebuilding the 10hp will cost far less if I ever need to.

OK, gotcha on the rear end matl.

While I'm dragging this off topic a bit, what was a 482? I'm thinking a garden tractor with a single Kohler? Maybe this 1050 was closest to that one?

I'm not made of money either. We just do opposite things. I have no problem overhauling an engine..... but it takes me forever to paint. I have the equipment..... but not a paint booth, or good "prep" area.

Id go ask about the 1806's ! I found one that needed and engine, I'd probably put my spare k321 in it! Couldn't be that hard to put it in.

he has one for $200 with a locked engine and i didnt ask about the others, kinda hard to remember the prices for all the stuff he has. over 100 tractors and mountains of mower decks and engines and everything in between and its all cub no off brand.
