Looking back at my pictures above, take a look at my home made wheel weights. They stick out about 5 or 6 inches. Will that interfere with plowing since my right wheels will be riding in the furrow?

That shouldn't be an issue, I saw tractors at PA plow days that had weights sticking out 12" or more. (Mostly john deeres

)

Yea Tim. I saw some youtube videos like that. Noticed that only the JD's had those big fat weights. I just never got a good look at the furrow side. Turns out mine stick out only around 3 inches anyway. Always looking for ways to add more weight. Some say to load the tires.

I went to my first plow day last year and I was also concerned with weight, I had the rears on my 108 filled with washer fluid and my tractor did just fine and I had stop plenty of times because the JD in front of me kept getting stuck even though he had much more weight than me. The washer fluid added about 50lbs per tire so if your weights are close to that you should be fine but if you want a little extra you can add fluid and you should have no issues.

My weights are close to 40 lbs each and I have another 50 lbs under the seat. Do you worry about your rims rusting with fluid in them? My first plow day will be this April only about 5 miles away. Doing some much needed maintenance on the 122 along with getting the plow set up.

Washer fluid won't eat the wheels like some other fluids will. Make sure you take spare parts, I was having an issue last year with the coil overheating which shut the tractor off, theres nothing worse then getting towed back to your truck.

I see some coils for $30 on ebay. Not Kohler brand, but are they OK?

I couldn't say, if its 12v with an internal resister it should work but some coils are bigger around and won't fit in the cub bracket and the bracket that comes with it is to wide to bolt to the cub. My new coil we sell at work and it's the proper diameter and my 108 ran great all summer mowing.
