so how deep are those three holes we can not seem to see?
Some look like they had a bolt screwed into them, sawed off and then welded. |

I see it now. Depth perception it what we are lacking. I was wrong. Once you guys see the depth of it you will see all his pics clearly. Still needs to be pulled off though as stated above, no way those are coming out.

I knew in the first picture that, that was a valley and not a peak, but the shadow from the basket kept throwing me off. Yeah, those ain't commin out the conventional way. You could drill and tap them, but it would be a long slow process with it still on the engine.

It's really difficult to see exactly what you got there. I believe I would at least try to bust it loose before pulling with a puller. Could you place a 5/8, 3/4 or what ever nut that would fit over the mess, weld it hot, and try to twist off whatever the PO put on there. it may break em loose, might just twist right back off, and remove nothing. When I run into these type messes, I figure nothing from nothing leaves nothing, so why not?

Well I went at it tonight with the 3 jaw puller and a pry bar and off she finally came. You can see the set screws are still in there and the plate is pretty rough. Hoping I can get the set screws out and save the pulley. Didn't order new fingers on the first go round so gonna have to this time. Thanks for the help guys

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
